About High-voltage Woodburning

This is not the typical woodburner that you used one time at summer camp.

Instead of drawing with a hot metal tip, this device passes 12,000 volts of electricity through the wood, burning branching channels as it searches for the most conductive path, creating patterns like lightning.

This process can be quite random, as the electricity seems to have a mind of its own. Even if you try to draw a straight line, the electricity interacts with the wood and results in organic forms. The longer a path burns, the deeper the channel is burned into the wood.
