Jody Nash Joins our Gallery

We are delighted to introduce the artistic talents of Jody Nash, whose journey with soft pastels began in 2020 against the backdrop of the enchanting landscapes of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Transitioning from a decade of dedicated work in coiled pine needle basketry and a fulfilling career in nursing, Jody found herself immersed in the vibrant beauty of her new environment. Seeking a medium to translate this inspiration, she discovered the allure of pastels and was instantly captivated. Jody's artistic exploration revolves around capturing the essence of nature - from the earth to the sky, water reflections, and the drama of storm clouds. She often employs unconventional techniques to convey her vision, fascinated by the interplay of color, light, composition, and the emotions they evoke. With a preference for brands like Terry Ludwig, Blue Earth, and Sennelier, and a fondness for Lux Archival paper for its versatility, Jody's artistic expression knows no bounds.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Jody brings a wealth of experience in curation and art exhibition coordination to our gallery. Throughout 2023, she curated and coordinated seven art shows at Governors Club, and her contributions to various exhibits were invaluable as a member of the Smelt Gallery Installation Committee. Notably, Jody spearheaded the social media marketing efforts for the Napa Valley Art Studio Tour in 2018, showcasing her passion for promoting the arts. Eager to share her expertise, Jody also teaches pastel and basketmaking classes, embodying a spirit of generosity and creativity that enriches our community. We are thrilled to welcome Jody and eagerly anticipate the dynamic energy she will bring to our gallery. Join us in celebrating her talent and passion as we embark on an artistic journey together!
