About the Course:

Jody has been making coiled pine needle baskets for over 12 years. Basketmaking can be a deeply meditative and solo experience. On the other hand, working in a group setting offers a great way to commune with other creatives.

This 2-session class is suited to the basketmaking-curious as well as those with some experience. Students will coil a small basket using long-leaf pine needles, various other grasses, embroidery thread, and synthetic sinew, all built around a ceramic center. The skills learned in making the small basket will be everything needed to make a larger basket.
